NAG's Sweet 16 Anniversary Fundraiser
On Saturday, November 6th, Neighbors Allied for Good Growth (NAG) will hold it's first annual gala. We have been an active voice for the improvement of quality of life in North Brooklyn for 16 years, but this will be our first celebration of our work.

Founded in 1994 as Neighbors Against Garbage, NAG's original mission was to connect the underused waterfront of Greenpoint/Williamsburg back into the adjacent neighborhood while preserving the mixed-income and mixed-use character of the broader area. NAG successfully organized community residents and businesses in opposition to the proliferation of waste-
transfer stations on out waterfront.

Today, NAG continues it's advocacy for a mixed-income and mixed-use community.  We seek to inspire and ignite both old and new residents through free community educational programming to discuss local issues as well as outspoken advocacy and independent analysis of private and public proposals that effect our district.

This year we are honoring the following Community Advocates who help to make NAG's vision a reality in North Brooklyn:

-Norm Brodsky with his work for the Northside Community Town Hall
-Martin Dunn for his work developing affordable housing on the waterfront
-Steve Hindy for his open space advocacy and philanthropy
-Rich Mazur for his work creating affordable housing through historic preservation at 37 Herbert Street
-Del Teague for her leadership in the Northside Town Hall Project
-Teresa Toro for her boundless efforts in transportation advocacy
-Cristine Zounek for her organizing at the Greenpoint Soup Kitchen

Please join us to celebrate Neighbors Allied for Good Growth's past, present and future.  Music will be provided by the Josh Rutner Trio.  Hors D'oevures, open bar, and great conversations will run from 7 to 10 pm in the ephemeral space of Causey Contemporary at 92 Wythe Ave in Williamsburg's Northside.
