HEIRLOOM ARTS THEATRE Present...
Friday, April 10th @ Heirloom Arts Theatre 155 Main St Danbury, CT 06810
Such Gold (Razor & Tie Records) Built on a foundation of classic hardcore and a strong touring ethic, Rochester, New York-based Such Gold bring extra intensity and passion to the world of melodic hardcore. Ben Kotin, Nate Derby, Skylar Sarkis, and Devan Bentley came together with the simple goal of making the kind of music they had grown up loving, and to get it out to the people by the most tried and true method of all: getting in the van. The band adds a layer of melody to the old-school hardcore sound, keeping the speed while adding emotional depth that extends beyond simply being upset. After recording a pair of EPs and appearing on Alternative Press' 100 Bands You Need to Know in 2012, Such Gold got the attention of the Razor & Tie label, which signed them and released their full-length debut, Misadventures, in 2012. By the time Such Gold released their second album, The New Sidewalk, in 2014, the group had a new lineup; singer and guitarist Ben Kotin and guitarist Nate Derby were joined by new bandmates Jon Markson on bass and Matt Covey on drums.
Koji (Run For Cover Records) Andrew "Koji" Shiraki has released an astounding collection of music including several EPs and a 2013 full-length, Crooked in My Mind. He's also shared the stage along-side acts like Code Orange Kids, Title Fight, Balance and Composure, Kevin Devine, Never Shout Never, The Wonder Years and Geoff Rickly (Thursday) to name a few, amassing a legion of diehard fans along the way with his passionate and honest lyrics. And as if that didn't keep him busy, Koji also runs an artist community called Colormake and contributes his time and creative arts to helping various charities like Charity: Water and Doctors Without Borders.
Brigades (Pure Noise Records) Brigades is a pop-punk / rock band hailing from upstate South Carolina comprised of Darren Young, Charlie Jackson, Frank Bryant, Tyler Watson, and Damian Johnson. The band young into their career signed with Pure Noise Records in 2014 and has toured with artists such as Vanna, Heart To Heart, State Champs, Handguns, and many others.
Tommy Boys (Other People Records) Hailing from California's Bay Area, the trio called Tommy Boys have entered Panda Studios with producer/engineer Sam Pura (The Story So Far, State Champs, Basement) to begin working on their debut full-length album. Expect it out later this year on Other People Records, a new label that's also home to Trade Wind and Avaberée.
Anchors Away A 4-piece punk rock band originating from New Haven county. Founded in 2011, and after a few lineup changes, Nick Firine, Matt Palumbo, Bobby Noonan, and Johnny Lacey put out their debut EP entitled, " Growing Pains" back in early 2013. The bands second release, a six song EP entitled, "Be Brave, Not Alone" made its way to the public on April 7, 2014.
