L'Ensemble - A Beethoven Bash
L'Ensemble in residence at Oldcastle Theatre will present its second concert of the season, A Beethoven Bash. Program to include two Trios for Piano Violin and Cello as well as works for solo piano. A special feature of this concert will be the performance of Irish and Scottish Folk Songs arranged by Beethoven for Voice, Violin, Cello and Piano. It is a little known fact that Beethoven composed more folksong settings than he did works of any other genre. The settings include poems of Robert Burns, Walter Scott, Thomas Campbell, Alexandr Boswell and William Smyth.
