CHARLOTTE'S WEB
Jackson County Stage Company Carbondale, IL
Continuing its tradition of presenting a family-oriented show in the summer after each regular season, The Stage Company offers "Charlotte's Web". Joseph Robinette, working with the advice of the story's author, E. B. White, wrote this delightful adaptation of the literary classic. In The Stage Company's production, adults and children are in a cast that portrays the people and the animals on the Zuckerman farm. These include Fern, a girl who understands what animls say to each other, and Charlotte, a friendly spider who helps Wilbur, an irresistible young pig, to avoid the butcher. He, in turn, does what is most important for her. This beautiful, knowing play about friendship will be directed by Jacquie Betz.
