Lighter Than Air, a contemporary dance workshop taught by Michel Rodriguez

Hedwig Dances presents Lighter Than Air, a contemporary dance technique workshop taught by company member Michel Rodriguez on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, November 8-19, 2010 from 10 to 11:30 am in the Dance Studio at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington (at Michigan Avenue). Lighter Than Air focuses on moving into and out of the floor with fluidity and grace, fusing contemporary dance, contact improvisation, gymnastics and the low-flying dance technique developed by David Zambrano. "I am a hammer, the floor is crystal, I cannot break it." Michel Rodriguez was a principal dancer with Danza Contemporanea de Cuba. He has taught dance in Spain and Cuba. Michel moved to Chicago in 2008 and began dancing with Hedwig Dances.

Note: Lighter Than Air is open to professional and pre-professional dancers and movement artists.
