Day A-Whey to Twin Maple Farm

Saxelby Cheesemongers is pleased to offer Tasting Table NYC an exclusive Day A-Whey trip to Twin Maple Farm! Participants will visit two cheese makers, be treated to a lavish picnic lunch, and come home with a gift bag full of delicious fare straight from the Hudson Valley.

Our Day A-Whey begins at Saxelby Cheesemongers. We'll depart from our shop at the Essex Market on our chartered coach bus and drive up through the beautiful Hudson Valley. Our first stop will be Hawthorne Valley Farm, a bio dynamic farm and creamery. We'll tour the farm, learning how they make their delectable cows' milk cheeses, grow amazing produce, and make various other comestibles all from the bounty of the farm.

Our next stop will be Twin Maple Creamery, a new creamery that makes a wonderfully stinky cheese called Hudson Red. We'll be greeted at the farm by Matthew Scott, the farm's owner, and taken up to the high pasture for a champagne reception. We'll then be treated to a lavish picnic lunch featuring local roasted pig, cole slaw, beans, corn bread, local wines, and of course, plenty of cheese!

After lunch we'll tour the farm, meet the cows, and see how they produce their award-winning Hudson Red cheese.

We'll be back to the city in time for dinner, and have you well stocked with plenty for the pantry!
