SCMS Presents The State Symphony Capella of Russia on

In 1991 the State Symphony Capella of Russia was borne of the merger of the USSR State Chamber Choir and the State Symphony Orchestra of the USSR Ministry of Culture. Critics note, among other things, the ensemble's performing discipline, its flexibility of phrasing, the nobility of expression, and skillfully balanced sections - all qualities that make it the State Symphony Capella of Russia: "What a Choir! Beautiful, noble, ideally balanced sound, diversity of timbres, flawless clear intoning... We can only dream about such a Choir" Le Monde de la Musique, France. But here, in Austin, the dream becomes reality, and once enveloped in the richness of the group's warm sounds, you might simply give yourself over to the deeply moving experience of the music.
