Headlining the show will be THE BENJAMIN BOONE QUARTET featuring David Aus on piano, Nye Morton on double bass, Gary Newmark on drums and Boone on saxes. With their colorful rhythms and artful improvisations, The Benjamin Boone Quartet conjures up a unique and vibrant brew of musical invention.
Boone's latest recording, "Benjamin Boone Quartet: Live with Steve Mitchell," recorded during the 2009 Rogue Festival was ranked in the top 100 jazz albums. No easy feat considering it was comprised of all original compositions, recorded live and was "decidedly out of the mainstream."
The show will open with the eclectic jazz fusion sounds of ESPACIO, featuring the amazing Eva Scow on electric mandolin. Rounding out ESPACIO are Nathan Guzman on drums, Mike King on electric guitar and Patrick Olvera on electric bass. Espacio's unique blend of funk, rock, Brazilian influence, and jazz produces a truly distinct and creative style. Their progressive infusion of sounds is garnering much attention in today's music scene.
Front woman Eva Scow's long list of impressive collaborations includes recording with David Grisman on his CD, 'Tone Poets' and performing and recording with the Turtle Island String Quartet.
In 2006, Eva was invited to participate in a workshop in New York City along with musicians Edgar Meyer, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, and Mike Marshall, culminating in a performance at Carnegie Hall.
Also expect special surprise guests!
