Cabaret with Lara Bruckmann
Audiences will get to know the talented soprano--and recent Baltimore transplant--Lara Bruckmann this June, when she appears as the soloist in the joint Mobtown Modern and BSO presentation of Osvaldo Golijov's Ayre, but we thought we'd let her showcase her sassy side before that by giving her a chance to let it all hang out in an evening of 20th century cabaret. Lara will be joined by pianist Lura Johnson to perform selections from William Bolcom's Cabaret Songs and music by Kurt Weill and others. Though you probably haven't heard Lara sing in Baltimore yet, you may have seen her skating around DuBurns Arena as her Charm City Roller Girl alter ego Doris Day of Reckoning. Oh, yes, this is going to be a fun show.
