The Science of Sound - Teacher Workshop

EMP|SFM
Seattle, WA

We think of music as a form of art, but it can be explained by science—the science of sound! Join Museum of Flight and EMP|SFM educators to learn how to teach students about sound. Participants will first explore sound by using activities from the FOSS (Full Option Science System) "Physics of Sound" kit. Next, those scientific principles will be modeled using the electric guitar through the "Science of Sound" EMP|SFM student workshop. Participants will try out their skills on real electric guitars, then examine the collection of historic guitars that showcase how inventors engaged in "The Pursuit of Volume." All participants receive copies of the Pursuit of Volume EMP|SFM classroom curriculum.
