SMPS SFBAC BIG 4 - Transit Oriented Development Impacting the Bay Area
Revitalization of transit lines in the Bay Area brings new opportunities and challenges for creating neighborhoods where people don't have to rely on a car for all their trips.
Communities throughout the Bay Area have focused on TOD strategies for several years to accommodate our escalating population growth. Land use decision makers, private sector development and impact investors are engaged in dialogue about investment strategies. Dozens of new projects are being planned and many are already underway.
This program will explore current and future developments, opportunities and issues public agencies, developers, investors and A/E/C firms will face in creating more desirable places to live and work along our transit lines. Panelists: Michael Garvey, The Grand Boulevard Initiative Lauryn Agnew, Seal Cove Financial Jeff Ordway, Manager of Real Estate & Property Development for the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART)
