Nanci Griffith says: "Bill Staines has been my hero since 1977. He carries on where Woody left off -- carrying on the tradition of stories and characters you wish you knew."
Bill Staines is the writer behind such modern folk classics as The Roseville Fair, (All God's Critters Got) A Place in the Choir, Travelin' Shoes, and Sweet Wyoming Home. He's written hundreds of songs, enough to fill 22 albums and four songbooks. His songs have been covered by artists including Peter Paul & Mary, Nanci Griffith, Mason Williams, The Highwaymen, Glen Yarborough, Jerry Jeff Walker, Grandpa Jones, and Priscilla Herdman.
