CORE: the show
The new Southern California dance and art organization, The Core Collective, is holding its first annual event, CORE: the show, to present choreography, dance film, and art on August 28, 2010 at the Chapman University Partridge Dance Center with doors opening at 7PM.
With the organization's mission statement to act as platform for emerging artists to engage new audiences in dance, CORE: the show is a multi-room art experience. The Core Collective will be producing the new work of several emerging choreographers in concert with dance films in one room, while Orange County Art and Culture magazine will be presenting several emerging artists in an adjoining gallery.
The evening of dance premiers will be the culmination of a summer residency held at Chapman University. The Core Collective invited emerging choreographers and teachers to create new work and provide free dance classes to the public.
The gallery will be open throughout the evening, while the dance and film showing will be taking place at 8PM. Following the performance, there will be a reception in the gallery to act as a fundraiser for the new organization, time for artist feedback, and art auction.
