The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of San Luis Obispo County is proud to present an evening with Holly Near, John Bucchino on piano and Emma's Revolution--Pat Humphries and Sandy O. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015.
Holly Near has been singing out for justice, peace, human rights and the planet for over 40 years. Holly's social change music has inspired generations of artists and world citizens to commit their hearts and talents to peace and justice. In film, TV and on Broadway, as well as on stages throughout the world, Holly has brought tears and laughter to audiences everywhere. Her grace, her humor and her integrity, along with her clear voice and the magical accompaniment of John Bucchino on piano, leave audiences breathless. Her message is one that sustains us all in the struggle--all struggles--no matter how discouraged we become.
Emma's Revolution is the classic, globetrotting duo of award-winning activist musicians Sandy O. and Pat Humphries. With gorgeous, close harmonies and unsinkable truthfulness, Emma's Revolution sings progressive, socially-conscious music shot through with intelligence and cutting humor. Their song "Peace, Salaam, Shalom" has become an anthem of peace sung worldwide. :"Sing Out" has described Emma's Revolution's music as "The epitome of great, contemporary political music."
