Basics of Aromatherapy and Crystal Healing
In a busy city like New York often we fail to breath, meditate or truly take time for self care. Often if something hurts or we are anxious, the quick solution is a prescription that may cause more harm than good. Have you ever had a whiff of fresh lavender oil and find it calming? Have you ever tried adding peppermint oil to your temples in the summer time for cooling off? You are not alone in these beneficial feelings. On that note, that is your own personal intro to understanding that our planet has everything it needs to provide us with natural healing. Many of us are very familiar with wedding anniversary, gems and metals. What many are starting to discover is that these very materials have curative characteristics which can be used to balance the body and mind.
Please Join us for two hours of learning and experimenting with different essential oils, blends, their usage, and how they can aid you with healing the body. Our healing expert will also discuss balancing the 7 chakras and the aura with crystals, which can be beneficial for meditation and healing
During the 1st hour you will learn the basics of aromatherapy and its healing properties. Authentic aromatherapy is a comprehensive healthcare modality that utilizes therapeutic plant extracts called "essential oils" to evoke the body's own intrinsic healing power. Essential oils support the body in achieving what it does naturally seeking homeostasis and balance. Surprisingly, aromatherapy is not chiefly about aroma, but rather the processes that occur in the body after its application. Using extracts of aromatic medicinal plants called "essential oils," aromatherapy facilitates the body's own healing power at the cellular level, allowing the body's systems to balance, repair and restore health.
During the 2nd hour we will discuss crystal healing. Crystal healing is a practice that uses crystals and gemstones. The crystals are mainly placed on specific areas of the body called "chakras." Chakra is a Hindu term meaning spiritual energy. According to this teaching there are seven basic energy centers in the body, each having a color associated with it. Some of the benefits of crystal healing are:

Bring your questions and pen and paper because there will be lots and lots to share and learn. A selection of teas and water will be available complimentary to all attendants. Oil products for the demo will be provided by DoTERRA and available for purchase. There will be a raffle at the end for 2 prizes to take home.
About the Instructor
Kirsten Summa has been a licensed massage therapist since 2007 and has been a licensed health coach since 2012. Her background involves eastern nutritional practices, eastern alternative therapies such as thai massage, shiatsu, cupping, and acupressure. Kirsten does a technique called aromatouch, where she treats clients with essential oils, crystals, and energy work. She incorporates nutrition and Aromatouch therapy in her practice and in her workshops. She uses essential oils even in her recipes and in her daily exercise routine. She promises to share her oil secrets at the event.
