Dads Count Fatherhood Breakfast and Awards Ceremony

The eighth Dads Count Breakfast will take place on Friday, October 15, 2010, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza San Francisco International Airport in Burlingame, CA. The event is sponsored by the government, legal and business communities of San Mateo County, in conjunction with the Fatherhood Collaborative of San Mateo County. The Fatherhood Collaborative is an Advisory Committee to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors and consists of organizations and individuals dedicated to supporting fathers in taking an active role in the lives of children and families.

I hope you will join me for this unique event that seeks to accomplish the following objectives:

** to publicly recognize the importance of men as fathers, grandfathers, and mentors to children;
** to gain support from the business, legal and government communities for fatherhood efforts;
** Â§to gain visibility and support for the Fatherhood Collaborative and its efforts;
** to recognize father friendly businesses, and
** to provide an opportunity for networking around fatherhood activities in the county.

This year, Assemblyman Jerry Hill will introduce our keynote speaker, Hector Sanchez-Flores, husband and father of two. Mr. Sanchez-Flores was one of the keynote speakers at our 2010 conference, and captured the imaginations of all who heard him speak. He is an expert on teen pregnancy prevention, a former researcher at UCSF, and a policy advisor to the National Latino Fatherhood & Family Institute. We are truly delighted that Hector Sanchez-Flores has agreed to speak at our event.

Sponsorships are available, and may be charged if they are for $1501 and above. A sponsorship for $1500 to $2,999 will receive two (2) tickets to the event; a sponsorship of $3000 to $4,999 will receive five (5) tickets; a sponsorship of $5,000 and above will receive 10 tickets.
