"Henry V" by William Shakespeare
Common Ground Theatre Durham, NC
Based on real history, Henry V is the story of a prince who has been wild and reckless in his youth, but is suddenly called upon to assume the throne and lead England to war against France. The young king must navigate political treachery from his own friends, hardship in combat, and low troop morale against insurmountable odds, culminating in the famous battle of Agincourt.
Directed by Carmen-maria Mandley, this Shakespearian history is told with extreme physicality, humor, heart, and a no-holds-barred approach that has become a signature Bare Theatre style.
