Natalie Weiss & Friends Offer All-Day Broadway Intensive

Come to our all day intensive at Pearl Studios (500 8th ave - Room 1214) on February 14th!

**AGES 13 and UP!**

9:30 am - 6:00 pm  
*Please check in between 9:30 & 9:45*

Schedule:
10:00 am - 2:00 pm
   Broadway performers Clay Thomson (Matilda, Newsies, West Side Story tour), Brian Spitulnik (Chicago), Lauryn Ciardullo (Aladdin, Addams Family tour, West Side Story tour, A Chorus Line tour), and Marissa Perry (Hairspray, Sister Act, My Big Gay Italian Funeral) will teach all participants original choreography from 4 different Broadway shows.

CLASS BREAKDOWN:
(10:00 - 10:10) Short warm up led by Clay Thomson
(10:10 - 11:05) Newsies choreography taught by Clay Thomson
(11:05 - 12:00) Chicago choreography taught by Brian Spitulnik
[10 minute break]
(12:10 - 1:05) Aladdin choreography taught by Lauryn Ciardullo
(1:05 - 2:00) Hairspray choreography taught by Marissa Perry

2:00 pm - 2:45 pm: Lunch break

2:45 pm - 5:05 pm: Natalie Weiss(Everyday Rapture, Les Mis tour, Wicked tour, American Idol, Breaking Down The Riffs web series) teaches a workshop.
    -She will work one on one with 10 singers while class observers + interactive GROUP riff circle with everyone

10 min break - Set up chairs for open Q & A

5:15 - 6:00 pm
Group Q & A with guest teachers


**Participant Package A: (caps at 10)
     Participants learn choreography from 4 different Broadway shows then SING for Natalie in the afternoon.  (Includes group riff circle & group q & a)
     Singers who are working one on one with Natalie should bring a MINIMUM of 2 songs. (Full songs or cuts)  These can be in the musical theatre or pop/rock/r&b/country genres.  There will be an accompanist provided.  
     Please bring appropriate dance wear/shoes.  There will be time to change before the afternoon workshop.

**Participant Package B:
     Participants learn choreography from 4 different Broadway shows then OBSERVE Natalie's workshop in the afternoon.  (Includes group riff circle & group q & a)
     Please bring appropriate dance wear/shoes.  There will be time to change before the afternoon workshop if you choose to do so.


*About the teachers!!**


NATALIE WEISS recently returned to NYC from a 6 city European solo concert/teaching tour.    
In August 2013, she completed a 2 1/2 year run performing multiple ensemble roles on the Les Miserables 25th anniversary tour. In 2010, she made her Broadway debut understudying the Menonettes in Everyday Rapture, starring Sherie Rene Scott. She also performed in the ensemble and understudied Elphaba in the 2nd national tour of Wicked. Natalie was an American Idol season 4 semi-finalist, has performed the National Anthem at Cowboys & Shea Stadium, but is most well known for her Youtube videos. CLAY THOMSON has most recently been seen in Matilda the musical on Broadway. Some of his other credits include Spot Conlon in Newsies on Broadway, A-rab in the National tour of West Side Story and the ensemble of Little Me and Most Happy Fella at New York City Center. Clay has taught students from all around the world and jumps at the opportunity to help inspire the next generation of performers! LAURYN CIARDULLO is currently a swing and Jasmine understudy for Disney's Aladdin on Broadway. After graduating SUNY Purchase College with a B.A. in Drama Studies she was cast as Holly in the Broadway National Tour The Wedding Singer. Some other national tours include; The Wizard of Oz (Glinda understudy), A Chorus Line (Swing), West Side Story (Maria understudy), The Addams Family (Swing) and The Little Mermaid. When not performing in Aladdin, Lauryn teaches voice and dance throughout the tri-state area and lives on Long Island with her husband and son.

MARISSA PERRY is best known as the starring role in Hairspray on Broadway, Tracy Turnblad, Broadway's favorite, fearless underdog. She was also in the original Broadway cast of Sister Act. Marissa originated the role of Maria in the Off Broadway hit, My Big Gay Italian Funeral and she proudly continued to flash her Italian American roots in the Revival of Tony And Tina's Wedding (Off Broadway- Original Revival Cast) as "powerhouse" bridesmaid, Marina Guilino. Marissa's other credits include originating the role of Kit in Princesses (David Zipple- Pre Broadway Run), Maria in My Big, Gay, Italian Wedding (Off Broadway), Kim in How The Nurse Feels (David Green - NYMF), Toby in Romy and Michele'sReunion, Trudie in Empire, Ellen in Sounds Like Love (Lincoln Center), Anabel Glick in Lucky Stiff (Laguna Playhouse), Suzy in The Marvelous Wonderettes (Seven Angels Theater) and many others. Marissa is a JEFF Award (Chicago) and IRNE Award (Boston) Nominee for Best Principle Actress in a Musical (2010). She has sung under the world renowned conductor Mr. Jack Everly with the Indianapolis and Baltimore Symphony Orchestras and has been a featured performer in many cabaret (54 Below, Birdland) and fundraising events (Defying Gravity:Stephen Schwartz Benefit Concert, Broadway Diva Fest, Born For Broadway Fundraiser, Mr. Green's Opus at Birdland). TV/FILM: Belinda in Tainted Dreams, Fitness Infomercials/Reality TV, The Tony Awards (2008,2011), G.M.A., The View, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (2011). Marissa travels the country sharing her infamous Dance/Musical Theater Master Classes. Marissa's talk back experiences, coined as the "Chill And Chat", have become a huge staple in her teaching career.
