Edgemere Farm & Playland Motel Present: The Rockaway Dye Garden's Red Dinner
Valentine's Day. It's the holiday everyone looks forward to!! Well, sort of... To help you get in the spirit or maybe just prepare mentally (hello, free cocktail), our February dinner will have an extra, colorful twist. Edgemere Farm's newest addition and founder of the Rockaway Dye Garden, Isabella Scott, will be combining her textile acumen and experience in natural dyeing to serve an all red and pink meal, using only the ingredients' native pigments. To celebrate the new Rockaway Dye Garden, and that other holiday, join us on Sunday, February 8th at Playland Motel!

PS Extra points for in-theme attire! Napkins are also naturally dyed by Isabella Scott.

Produce from this week's dinner will be sourced from the Corbin Hill Food Project, a network of local New York state farms.

MENU

Vegetarian Romesco Soup
- red pepper soup with a vegetarian and nut base
- served with homemade bread from Arts in Parts

Radicchio, Goat Cheese and Hazelnut Salad

Steak Roulade

Desserts:

Candied Hibiscus and Cranberries

The menu is sensitive to vegetarians; an alternative entree will be available.

SCHEDULE
Doors open at 6:00pm and dinner will be served at 6:45.

ABOUT THE ROCKAWAY DYE GARDEN
The Rockaway Dye Garden at Edgemere Farm was established by Isabella Scott in October 2014. The dye garden, located on the corner of Beach 46th Street and Beach Channel Drive in Far Rockaway, will be growing native dye plants, flowers, and herbs for workshops and projects involving textile design and fabric treatments.

DIRECTIONS
By TRAIN, take the Rockaway Park bound A train to the Beach 98th Street stop. The exit to the Beach 98 stop is on the same block as Playland with Playland listed on the Subway-stop sign. Many times Rockaway Park bound A trains are hard to come by. If so, take the Far Rockaway bound A train and get off at Broad Channel to transfer to the shuttle (S) to the 98th Street station.

By BUS, take the Q22 or Q53, both stop right in front of Playland Motel.
