Le Jeu Theater Workshop
WHAT:
'Le Jeu' is French for 'The Game.' It is through the pleasure of games that we find our unique beauty. And in theater, pleasure is the basis for everything.
"If you don't show your pleasure, you are not on the level of theater. An actor opens our imagination with his acting pleasure. We are mad in a way; we are not reasonable; we have fantasies when we watch a good actor. With your pleasure, we know we can dream." - Philippe Gaulier
'Le Jeu' is also the name of Philippe Gaulier's class in which the principles of all theater pleasure, complicité, major/minor, fixed point, lightness, rhythm, and voice are taught; and these are the things we will play with in this two-day workshop.
