Storybox Improv Workshop with Jonathan Pitts
A workshop on techniques in improvised story-telling as developed by Jonathan Pitts and Storybox Improvisational Theater. The $50 class fee includes one three-hour workshop and a demonstration performance.
Jonathan Pitts is the Executive Director of the Chicago Improv Festival Productions. He is also the Co-Founder of the prestigious Chicago Improv Festival. This is his 11th year producing the festival.
He is also the creator and producer of the College Comedy Championship, the Teen Comedy Fest, and CIF Production's touring educational outreach programs.
He was selected for the 3 years in a row by New City magazine as one of "Chicago's Top 50 Theatre Players". An international director and teacher, he's a 10 year faculty member of The Second City and he's taught in London at The Spontaneity Shop. He's a contributing writer to the book, The Second City's Almanac of Improvisation, and he wrote the forward to Asaf Ronan's book Directing Improv.
He improvised in over 1,000 shows with several ensembles in Chicago and across America. He was a member of iO Comedy Theater's first ever house team, Stone Soup. As an actor he appeared in over 30 productions with numerous Chicago area theatres.
