PLEASE NOTE: This production contains nudity and sexual situations. Directed by Dave Barton, the play stars Christopher Basile, Anthony Cohen, Rick Kopps, Jill Cary Martin and Sabrina Zathers. TRUE LOVE LIES runs seventeen performances at 204 N. Harbor, in downtown Fullerton, beginning Friday, July 9. The show runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. with all seats $20 general admission and $10.00 for students.
ABOUT THE PRODUCTION: Monkey Wrench Collective is honored to present the third show of their first season: the West Coast Premiere of TRUE LOVE LIES, Canadian playwright Brad Fraser's hilarious and heart-breaking 2009 sequel to his famed 1989 back comedy UNIDENTIFIED HUMAN REMAINS AND THE TRUE NATURE OF LOVE.
Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, multiple award-winning Brad Fraser has been writing since the age of 17 and his plays have been seen worldwide and translated into multiple languages. Some of his major plays include WOLFBOY - 1984; POOR SUPER MAN - 1994; MARTIN YESTERDAY - 1997; SNAKE IN FRIDGE 2000; OUTRAGEOUS 2000 (MUSICAL WITH Joey Miller); and COLD MEAT PARTY 2003. His film and television credits include LOVE AND HUMAN REMAINS and SNAKE IN FRIDGE, as well as several seasons with the hit series QUEER AS FOLK. COMING UP NEXT FROM MONKEY WRENCH: Rounding up Monkey Wrench's 2010 season: In August, director Eli Siimon brings his CLOWNZILLA troupe for the World Premiere of CLOWNZILLA: ILLEGAL ALIENS. October is Mark Ravenhill's controversial, adults-only comedy SHOPPING & F**KING. The US Premiere of Chris Secor's JESUS IS GAY opens in December.
Note: A variety of restaurants and bars are located within easy walking distance of the theater.
Free parking is available behind the theater and in the public parking garage located one block north on Wilshire. Please allow additional time for parking on Thursday evenings, as there is a small street fair on Wilshire Boulevard.
