AGING BULL! or 40 Is The New 10 -- A Late Night Risque Cabaret
Following its successful inaugural productions, "Jingle Bell Jock!" starring Tom Orr and "Bewitched, Bothered & Bipolar!" starring Carly Ozard, San Francisco's new musical comedy cabaret collective, Tomorrow! Productions returns to the Eureka Theatre, 215 Jackson Street, to present its next exciting venture: THE 2010 SOMETHING C.O.O.L. SUMMER CABARET FESTIVAL, a diversely entertaining array of unique cabaret offerings in a 5-week series of shows, 7 nights a week.
The Festival is comprised of diverting acts featuring a Who's Who of the Bay Area's best, brightest and busiest musical theatre performers and includes salon evenings, adult-oriented burlesque and traditional cabaret performances.
Award-winning poet, performer, playwright, producer and local lyricist-at-large Tom Orr stars in his latest musical parody travesty, AGING BULL! or 40 IS THE NEW 10, a "40th Birthday June Bride Pride Party."
Best known as the bawdy bard and dirty mind behind "Dirty Little Showtunes!" (which returns this winter to New Conservatory Theatre Center in the 2010-11 NCTC Pride Season), Orr follows up his recent solo show spectaculars, "I Feel A Thong Coming On!," "Tom Orr in A Crass Act!" (Nominee: 2009 Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award Best Performance by An Actor in A Musical) and his yuletide extravaganza "Jingle Bell Jock!" with another epic evening of his unique burlesque, sly wry seriocomic megamonologues and satirical lyrical miracle musical parodies. Maestro Dave Dobrusky returns as Orr's Musical Director & Accompanist.
With his own 40th birthday coinciding with the 40th Anniversary of the Gay Pride Parade, Orr sets his sights on a new array of sacred cows and aging bulls, including the fight for Gay Marriage and Gay Pride itself, as well as his own journey from boy ingénue to leading man and a slew of new celebrities to be "Bitchslapped!"
