This is the story of Ramasan, the 11-year-old Muslim living in Macondo, a refugee settlement on the outskirts of Vienna. The fatherless boy tries his best to live his role as the "man of the house" despite his young age. Caught in a precarious maze of cultural and identity ideals, Ramasan finds his life thrown out of balance when Isa, a man who once knew his father, suddenly arrives. With documentary precision, Mortezai elicits amazing performances from her young actors that move far beyond the broad strokes of other similar works.
