Bluebird album release concert
C.B. Smith & the Lucky Devils will be celebrating the release of their new album BLUEBIRD with a concert at the Kleinert/James Center for the Arts in Woodstock on January 24 at 8:00 PM.
This adventurous acoustic Americana quartet features fiddle phenom Megan Gugliotta, Berklee-educated bassist Bill Strohm, mandolin prodigy Brendan Donovan and singer/multi-instrumentalist C.B. Smith. The band's unique mix of literate songwriting, instrumental prowess and four-part harmony vocalizing has drawn acclaim in the Hudson Valley and beyond over their four years together.
The new album hones close to the modern bluegrass stylings of Smith's 2010 solo album Flesh & Bone, with the camaraderie and instrumental interplay that comes only with years together as a working band.
Smith says, "These songs are about ordinary people searching for some hard-won peace of mind. Our aim is to reach deep places in the listener's mind and heart, and to get people dancing, if only in their seats."
