Salad Bowl 2010
Join us for a sumptuous summer evening of celebration, supper, ceramics, and hilarious fun at Pottery Northwest!
- Gourmet salads and delicious desserts from some of Seattle's best restaurants, caterers and chefs (CRAVE, Crow, Enza, Lucy Damkoehler, Grand Central Bakery, Portage Bay Café, LOLA, Ripe Catering, TASTE, Ten Mercer, The Ruins, Toulouse-Petit ...)
- Live music.
- Enormous serving platters and one-of-a-kind salad bowls to take home with you -- all created by PNW and other noted artists including Akio Takamori, Claudia Fitch, Anne Grgich, and many more.
- Creative fun, games, and entertainment!
Funds raised at the Salad Bowl will support several important programs at Pottery Northwest.
Artists from throughout the world come to Pottery Northwest to develop their artistic practice and portfolio. Funds defray studio costs for some and help with materials and exhibition costs for others.
Acquiring a new energy-efficient kiln to fire larger scale work created by resident and visiting artists.
PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS' PROJECTS:
Regional artists successful in other media can "cross over the bridge" and (with studio assistance) create projects in ceramic materials and processes. Recent artists include sculptor John Grade and glass magic workers, the de la Torre brothers.
