Stage Door's Performance Arts Camps
Creative Arts June 28-July 2 9:00am-12:00pm $100 Grades K-2
The young actor will be introduced to the imaginative world of visual and performing arts. We will explore well known stories and songs using creative movement, puppetry, pantomime, and dance. Campers will explore these theatrical elements throughout the week, which will culminate in a showcase performance for friends and family on Friday, July 2 at 11:30am. This musical theatre camp will include instruction in dialogue delivery, character interpretation, dance, and singing, and will feature a performance for the general public on Friday, July 2 at 7:00p.m. The campers will perform Disneyâs 101 Dalmatians Kids. In a loving home in the city of London, Dalmatian parents, Pongo and Perdita happily raise their Dalmatian puppies, until the monstrous Cruella De Vil plots to steal them for her new fur coat! Join all the dogs of London, as they daringly rescue the puppies from Cruella and her bumbling henchmen. With a delightfully fun musical score, lovable characters, and one of the most deliciously evil villains in the Disney canon, this stage adaptation is certain to charm and delight all audiences. Laugh It Up! Improvisation and Comedy Camp July 5-July 9 9:00am-12:00pm $100 Grades 3-8 Polish your funny bone while participating in short skits, zany improvisations, and acting games designed for enhancing your comedic timing and talent. Campers will explore these comedic elements throughout the week, which will culminate in a showcase performance for friends and family on Friday, July 9 at 11:30am. Production Camp: Law and Order: Special Fairytales Unit July 5-July 9 1:00pm-5:00 pm (Monday-Thursday), 1:00-7:00 (Friday) $175 Grades 3-8
This acting production camp will include instruction in movement, voice, character development, and dialogue delivery as they prepare this humorous and entertaining play. This camp will feature a performance for the general public on Friday, July 9 at 7:00p.m. The campers will perform Law and Order: Special Fairytales Unit. In the fairy tale criminal justice system, the characters from fairy tales and nursery rhymes are represented by two separate yet equally ridiculous groups: the fairy tale police who investigate fairy tale crime, and the fairy tale district attorneys who prosecute the fairy tale offenders. These are their stories.
The Musical Theatre and Acting Production performances will be advertised and open to the general public. Dinner will be provided at Friday's camp as the campers will stay until the show begins at 7:00p.m. Each camper will receive two complimentary tickets included in their camp registration price.
