The Bricks Present THE ZOO STORY
The Zoo Story is considered one of the most gripping one-acts in American theatre, taking us to a park bench outside Central Park and inside a moment between two men, Jerry and Peter, that reflect upon social class, loneliness, desire, and raw human condition. One afternoon while Peter is sitting outside Central Park reading, Jerry, a loner on his way from the zoo, engages Peter in a conversation that is designed to dissect Peter's life, play upon his weakness' and cause unyielding trauma.
The Zoo Story was written in 1958, and is the second play of Albee's career (his first was when he was twelve) and debuted off-Broadway in 1960 though in today's American socio-economic climate the themes are still quite relevant.
