For decades, an overworked, under-rewarded Omaha real estate agent, Ginger Gainor, has harbored a fantasy to bask in the sunny splendor of a California beach. About to turn forty, Ginger packs her underachieving husband, Stu, and children into an RV and heads west to realize her picture postcard dream once and for all. Unfortunately, the wheels come flying off Ginger's fantasy before she and her family reach Omaha city limits. The comic and tragic turns of this suburban passion play teach the entire Gainor family a few hard lessons in life.
