Everyone has ghosts in their past. For Jill Michaelson, those ghosts have come back to haunt her. A late night call alerts Jill that her friend, Maddy, is dead, and that her presence at the funeral is requested. While the call conjures excruciating memories, Jill realizes this may be her only opportunity for closure. Arriving at the remote Usher House, Jill is intrigued, drawn by the seductiveness of the immense mansion and the aristocratic family, but mostly, the man himself. Undeterred by the seething menace of family caretaker, Mrs. Thatcher, Jill's feelings for Rick deepen, as does her concern for him. But what she thought was a chance at a new beginning suddenly seems to be leading toward a dangerous, irreversible end.
