Goitse
The outstanding outfit Goitse, (pronounced 'Gwitcha,' is an informal greeting in Irish meaning 'Come here'), is comprised of former students forged in the crucible of the University of Limerick's world-famous Traditional Music and Dance School. Goitse returns to the area celebrating the release of their third CD, 'Tall Tales and Misadventures; their previous recording, Transformed,' earned numerous Top 10 Album of the Year mentions in 2012 and Irish Music Magazine declared, 'Transformed sees Goitse transformed from the periphery to the Big Leagues.' Goitse's compelling combination of infectious youthful enthusiasm, zestful high-energy, gleeful spirits, remarkable musical maturity and skill level from members, vibrant fiddler and sultry singer Aine McGeeney, multiple All-Ireland Champion in both banjo and mandolin James Harvey, All-Ireland Piano Accordion Champion Tadhg O'Meachair, twice All-Ireland Bodhran Champion Colm Phelan and gifted guitarist Conal O'Kane led Dublin's Hot Press to proclaim, 'Those fretting over the future of Irish trad can rest more easily at night.
