Based on Lynn H. Nicholas' book of the same name, The Rape of Europa tells the story of the systematic theft, deliberate destruction and miraculous survival of Europe's art treasures during the Third Reich. The film also tells the dramatic story of the U.S. Monuments Men who were sent to Europe to safeguard and return displaced art at the end of the war.
