Fire and Ice Cocktail Event and Fundraiser

Lacawac Sanctuary and Field Station is hosting a new fun event. There will be beautiful people and smart people and interesting people (often the same people), and food and drinks and all things in support of environmental and science outreach K-12 school programs in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike and Wayne Counties.

Join Lacawac Sanctuary on Thursday January 22, 2015 at The Colonnade, Jefferson Avenue Scranton PA from 6 to 8 pm. This event is guaranteed to brighten up your winter.

Sponsored by NBT Bank, Fire and Ice Event is a fundraiser to support Lacawac Sanctuary and Field Station, a nonprofit organization that offers a diverse set of natural areas, facilities, and programs for K-12 and post-secondary educators and students, area residents, scientific researchers, and summer visitors to the region.

Proceeds will support Lacawac's programs for children grades K-12, ranging from school visits with our naturalists to group-specific field trips and after-school enrichment. Lacawac's environmental education enhances schools' curriculum and aligns with the Commonwealth's Academic Standards for Environment and Ecology. Additionally, our offerings support the Pennsylvania STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Initiative.

The event is open to the public and is a 21+ event. The Colonnade will provide heavy hors d'oeuvres; a cash bar will be available. Attire is completely your choice but weather appropriate. That means, if you want to wear your cute party dress or cool new shirt - fantastic. But if it's cold and blizzard-y out and you can't imagine wearing anything but flannel-lined jeans and a big sweater, that's fine with us!

Tickets in advance are $25 and $35 at the door on the day of the event. Come share the warmth and support Lacawac's education programs!
