"That's how we've done it from the very beginning," explains singer/guitarist Dave Wilson, who launched the North Carolina-based quartet in 1999. "There's something about the bareness of that sound. There's nothing inserted between the instruments and what the audience hears."<BR><BR>What makes Chatham County Line so unique is the band's progressive sound, which marries bluegrass traditions with a number of eclectic genres. "We weren't raised in a barn," he jokes, referring to the band's mix of country appeal and street-smart city attitude. &nbsp;Guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin and upright bass help fashion the band's earthy sound. &nbsp;Bluegrass traditionalists rave about the bands virtuosity with their instruments and soaring high lonesome vocals. &nbsp;Others appreciate their rock and roll edge and the smart songwriting. &nbsp;Audiences are never disappointed with what CCL brings to their shows. <BR><BR>Recently, Chatham County Line has been touring extensively in Europe playing to enthusiastic crowds in larger theaters and opera houses.
