"The Sound of Music"
Kitsap Forest Theater Bremerton, WA
Rodgers & Hammerstein's The Sound of Music will be presented May 30, 31 & June 5, 6, 12, 13, & 19, 20 at 2:00 pm.
When Maria proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her growing rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain.
The family's narrow escape from the Nazis over the mountains to Switzerland on the eve of World War II provides one of the most thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented in the theater. Famous songs include: "Climb Every Mountain", "Do-Re-Mi", "Edelweiss" and "My Favorite Things".
Experience the powerful retelling of this story of love and hope in the midst of war and political upheaval in Austria during the 1930's.
