In spite of Lundyn's prayers, her mother never stopped using drugs which led to the children's separation from their mother and each other. Lundyn was taken in by the Woodard's who loved her like their own daughter and helped her understand that an unanswered prayer doesn't mean God isn't listening. Lundyn's growing faith becomes the strength that her siblings and her best friend need to make it through their trials. They all come to realize that God has not forsaken them.
