Old Blind Dogs with special guests, David Brewer & Pete Haworth
Celebrating the release of their new CD on Compass Records, 'Beneath the Junipers,' one of the most highly touted Celtic bands of our time returns to our area. Old Blind Dogs have earned numerous accolades over the years for their frenzied 'live' performances & recordings, including being named two-time winners of 'Folk Band of the Year' by the prestigious Scots Trad Music Awards. Their incadescent instrumental arsenal of pipes, fiddle, whistles, bouzouki, guitar and percussion and vigorous and vibrant vocals have made them pet favorites with people all over the world and generated raves from critics, as for example, from 'The Scotsman,' which enthused, 'Old Blind Dogs play with a compelling energy and intoxicating rhythm as players and audience seem to share a wild ecstasy of emotion.' The concert will open with a rare duo appearance by piper and multi-instrumentalist David Brewer and singer and bouzouki player Pete Haworth, both from the outstanding band, Molly's Revenge.
