San Francisco International Arts Festival
The seventh annual San Francisco International Arts Festival (SFIAF) kicks off on May 19 and runs through May 30 with more than 40 performances and two major visual arts exhibits being presented by 32 San Francisco organizations at multiple venues throughout the City. With its annual theme, "The Truth in Knowing/Now: Threads in Time, Place, Culture," SFIAF 2010 will include numerous World Premieres, US Debuts & International Collaborations featuring leading artists from the Bay Area performing and exhibiting with and alongside their international peers from around the world. This year's festival includes dance, music, theatre and visual arts and events will take place at four venues at the Fort Mason Center (the Cowell & Southside Theatres and the Herbst and Festival Pavilions) as well as at Monaghan's Bar, swissnex San Francisco, Theater Artaud, the Garage, the Herbst Theatre and Union Square.

SFIAF's longest running presenting partners, the Earplay Ensemble present an international program featuring the world premiere of a new commissioned work by Koreas Hyo-shin Na titled "Song of One Lost in the Fog," a piece that bridges California Native American, East Asian and Western cultures. The evening will also feature compositions by Tolga Yayalar, Wayne Peterson and the late Jorge Liderman.
