Manny Moka Ensemble - Latin Jazz-Funk band CD release!
Jazz at Pearl's San Francisco, CA
Pianist Manny Moka was born in Brooklyn, New York, and his musical influences reflect the multi-cultural melting pot of the pulsing New York street scene.
Moka lives on the West Coast now, but he maintains his ties to the hot New York Latin and jazz scene. Manny Moka treats listeners to burning tracks of original tunes that combine a sassy, funky attitude with picante Latin rhythms.
The CD is already receiving international notice. Saúl Zavarce Zavarce, of 106.7 PBS FM radio in Melbourne, Australia, says, "Manny Moka is as eclectic as New York City itself. He takes you on a ride full of great compositions and arrangements, with a lot of 'sabor latino' and great musicianship on his self-titled CD."
The all-star cast performing on Manny Moka's new CD includes trumpeters Bill Ortiz and James Tinsley, trombonist Jeff Cressman, saxophonist Charlie Keagle and percussionists Karl Perazzo and Edgardo Cambon and bassists Terry Miller and Joel Landsberg. Many of these fine musicians, stalwarts of the San Francisco music scene, will be appearing with Moka at his Pearl's CD release gala!
