Six@Six: Student Series- An Un-Belizable Experience
Presenters: Gabriella Locke, junior, anthropology Nicholas Thaxton, senior, anthropology
Monday, March 16, 2015 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Baker Hunt Art & Cultural Center
Lecture Details Travel to Belize with undergraduate anthropology students Gabriella Locke and Nicholas Thaxton as they explore the local culture of northern Belize's sugar cane farming communities. In conducting ethnographic interviews, Locke, Thaxton and their fellow students gained insight into sugar cane farming and household budgeting from the perspective of the local farming families in this tiny Central American nation. You may never again open a sugar packet for your tea or coffee without remembering what you learned from these students and their work.
