Too often, clever films full of charming, smart, witty talk, are just that and you leave the theater unfulfilled. Not so with Paris-Manhattan. All of the talk is just the wrapping. Open it up and you will find the human comedy of family, love, longing, and attachment and/or detachment. Your ticket buys you pleasure well spent. As an extra treat, you might just find yourself in the company of someone most humorously wise.
Woody Before Allen
An adventurous meditation on past and present, on two former Konigsbergs a man and a city that no longer use the same name: one is a Russian city that was renamed Kaliningrad, another a renowned film director who changed his name to Woody Allen. To commemorate the bizarre connection between these two former Konigsbergs, Masha Vasyukova, a native of the city, makes it her mission to put a statue in Kaliningrad to honor Woody Allen.
