VETERANS' VOICES by Erasing the Distance
November 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 2013 at 7:30pm
This exciting WORLD PREMIERE was created with students from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and focuses on the mental health issues facing servicemen and women, veterans, and their families.
GENERAL tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. DISCOUNT tickets are $10 for Students/Seniors and Groups (10+). INDUSTRY Theatre and Mental Health $10 discount tickets only available on 11/18. FREE 30 tickets per night are available for veterans and active military on a first come first serve basis -- must be reserved online in advance.
The NATIONAL VETERANS ART MUSEUM (NVAM), just upstairs from the theatre, will be open each night prior to the Veterans' Voices performance from 5:30pm - 7:30pm for viewing of their exhibits, including the new Esprit de Corps.
FAMILY CULTURAL NIGHTS are also being held at the museum! FREE creative art workshops for children and special needs children of veterans, ages 3-18, are being offered by School of the Art Institute of Chicago Art Therapy graduate students during the 11/12, 11/13, 11/18, and 11/19 performances of Veterans' Voices. LOCATION/DIRECTIONS Veterans' Voices is performed at Filament Theatre, located in Chicago's northwest Portage Park neighborhood at 4041 N. Milwaukee Avenue. It's in the Six Corners area where Cicero, Milwaukee and Irving Park Road come together. There is street parking available, as well as parking in the nearby Sears store lot.
