After Winter, Spring
In the Périgord region of southwestern France, After Winter, Spring follows a handful of farmers through the seasons as they live through the transformation of their rural world. Now, in this region that has been continuously cultivated for over 5,000 years, their age-old way of life is disappearing at an alarming rate, and farmers struggle to cope with overwhelming challenges. Following them over three years, we are able to witness the degradation of an ancestral way of life and also to see surprising adaptations. Their stories interweave to reveal an intimate picture of the reality facing family farms everywhere. US/France; 74 min; Winner, Audience Favorite Award, Mill Valley Film Festival 2012.
