Oliver Lake Solo
Oliver Lake, a 70-year-old alto sax master who, starting in the '60s, took what Eric Dolphy had done and stretched it further, now paints pictures and makes collages. His works, plus those of other artists making visual statements connected to jazz, will be on display at the Healdsburg Center for the Arts from June 3-30 in a show called "Flying Home: Inspired by Jazz." On June 29 Lake will perform solo, surrounded by the artworks.
