Frisco Jazz Band, plus New Horizon Stompers
The Frisco Jazz Band is led by a string-instrument specialist named Scott Anthony who, at age 14, was invited to play banjo on "Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour." He's pretty good on the guitar, too. Decades later in San Francisco, Anthony was hired to play intermissions during Turk Murphy's legendary gigs at Earthquake McGoon's. There will likely be some ground shaking when the Frisco Jazz Band brings its high-energy Dixieland into the Costeaux French Bakery & Café. Opening the show will be the New Horizon Stompers, a crack big-band of Sonoma County Dixieland aces led by Ray Walker.
