Global Youth: A Lost Generation? How Business Can Help
Mercy Corps Action Center presents Microsoft's Akhtar Badshah in a talk entitled "Global Youth: A Lost Generation? How Businesses Can Help."  

Sponsored by Global Envision (www.globalenvision.org), Mercy Corps' blog on market driven solutions to poverty, the lecture takes place at 7 pm, Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Mercy Corps Action Center, 28 SW 1st Avenue, Portland, Oregon, 97204; 503-896-5747.

Tickets are $10.00 Regular, $5 Students and available online at Brown Paper Tickets, in person at the Action Center during regular hours or by phone, 503-896-5747 during regular Action Center hours.

Young people around the world face an opportunity dividea gap between those who have the access, skills and opportunities to be successful and those who do not. Akhtar Badshah has traveled the globe talking and working with youth to discover how global companies, and global programs like Microsoft YouthSpark, can help close this divide, and prepare today's youth for tomorrow's jobs.

Badshah specializes in corporate social responsibility, non-profit development, and information and communication technology for development. Before joining Microsoft in 2004, Badshah was the CEO and president of Digital Partners Foundation, a Seattle-area nonprofit organization whose mission is to utilize the digital economy to benefit the poor. At Digital Partners, he established the organization's core programs in India, Africa and Latin America.

Badshah is an architect by training and a doctoral graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is on the board of several organizations and very active in the Seattle area community.
