Spring Session 2: Day Sky/Night Sky
Observe the sky, both during the day and at nightclouds, the sun and moon, and, is that a star? We notice what we see and discover how it happens and why. Classes will include visits to the observatory, planetarium and to two new exhibits: "Constellation Hall" and the traveling exhibit, "Science on a Sphere."
First Class: What's the Weather Today: Hot, Cold, Wet, Dry?, April 4, 5 or 6 Second Class: Moon, Planets, Stars: Night Sky Discoveries April 18, 19 or 20 Third Class: Seasons and the Sun: First Day of Spring May 2, 3 or 4 Fourth Class: Asteroids, Comets and Meteors: What's the Difference? May 16, 17 or 18
Prehistoric Preschool is a Museum program for 3- to 5- year-olds and their adult companions to explore natural history topics in a supportive and fun atmosphere. All activities are child-centered, hands-on, and age appropriate. Classes include two hours of crafts, songs, games, puppet shows, investigating specimens from the Museum's collections, Museum visits, and a fun and healthy snack. Registration is pro-rated if you join after the first class starts.
This class meets on Thursday afternoons,1:00pm-3:00pm: April 4, April 18, May 2, and May 16.
This program is also offered: Thursday mornings,10:00am-noon: April 4, April 18, May 2, and May 16. Friday mornings,10am-Noon: April 5, April 19, May 3, and May 17.
Saturday mornings,10:00am-Noon: April 6, April 20, May 4, and May 18.
Saturday afternoons,1:00pm-3:00pm April 6, April 20, May 4, and May 18. --Look for a separate Brown Paper Ticket event listing for each.
