Returning to light up our New Year's Eve Celebration, as she has many times before, blues guitarist/singer extrordinare Debbie Davies first gained widespread notice during her three years with the late Albert Collins' band, The Icebreakers. Her roles included solo &; rhythm guitar, vocalist and guitar "duelist" with Collins, who called her "a great guitar player who sure can play the blues." She has worked with blues icons like B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Koko Taylor and John Mayall (who gave her a rare and unequivocal endorsement). Her gritty vocals and searing guitar work have drawn comparisons to Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

CHRIS O'LEARY Band
Returning for their second New Year's Eve celbration at the Towne Crier, the powerhouse CHRIS O'LEARY Band is a fun group that has continually impressed us with their high-energy appearances here at the Towne Crier Cafe. Blues harp player/vocalist Chris O'Leary's musical background includes duties as lead singer and front man for Levon Helm and The Barnburners. During the seven years that Chris &; Levon played together, they toured across the US, lighting up stages everywhere they went. Chris has also appeared on stage with The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jimmy Vivino, Albert Lee and Dave Edmunds. O'Leary's band also includes Chris Vitarello on guitar (Dennis Gruenling, Arlen Roth, etc); Sean McCarthy on drums (Sidetracked Blues Jam, Little Sammy Davis, etc); and Fankie Ingrao on bass (Levon Helm, Hubert Sumlin, etc).
