An Evening of Contemporary Flamenco
Join us Thursday, May 19th for an evening of contemporary flamenco,a multi-artist three set show showcasing the talents of Gregoíre de la Costa & Lindsey Bourassa, Tom Kovacevic, and Snaex.

Flamenco guitarist and composer Gregoíre Pearce and contemporary flamenco dancer and choreographer Lindsey Bourassa of Bourassa Dance are a flamenco duo based in Portland, Maine. Creating and performing all original music and dance works, they honor and adhere to the traditions of flamenco while simultaneously flexing the boundaries of the art form, integrating unique artistic, conceptual and contemporary visions into their work. This collaboration is an exciting artistic exchange of original compositions and choreography. They will be performing works from Gregoíre Pearces new album Pluviophile (2015), as well as selected works from Bourassa Dances newest contemporary-flamenco production entitled El Lobo y La Paloma.

Tom Kovacevic makes original music using the oud and his voice. The oud is the Arabic fretless lute, the forerunner of the guitar, and still the most popular instrument in the Arab world. Tom uses the instrument in an original way, while still trying to bring out the richness of its sound, while singing evocative words, in a unique blending of America, African and Arab styles.

Snaex is the Portland based musical project of Chris Teret, a Baltimore native and founder of 'Company' and Chriss Sutherland, life-long Mainer and common spirit of Cerberus Shoal, Fire on Fire, and Olas.
