The fierce and funny under-21 women of Youth Performance Company estimate that they've had about 675 periods, collectively, and they are here to tell you they KNOW their stuff, and this ain't yo momma's period show. It's Goddess Menses & the Menstrual Show, the funniest show ever about your period, period. The high-energy extravaganza includes songs, scenes and personal stories about everything from white-jean horror stories to the relief of not being pregnant for another month. Segments are factual (what is "normal" menstruation, anyway?), funny (what would happen if men got periods?) and astonishingly frank, as young women reflect on the journey from self-consciousness to self-acceptance. Informative, true and incredibly hilarious, this Youth Performance Company show is a fresh and funny take on a subject you only used to cringe about in health class.
The show was created and is performed by the brave and bold women who have brought you at least 50% (the good parts) of YPC's recent Fringe Festival hits, Bottoms Up and semidarkness. If you thought you couldn't laugh out loud at a hilarious menstruation song, you must see this show. Feel free to bring along your heating pad and Midol, and be prepared to share your chocolate, bitch.
